HOW TO REGISTER ON-LINE top

Registration on-line is simple, fast and convenient.  Once you’ve entered in your registration information you will never have to enter it again, unless some of your information has changed.  In other words, once you’ve entered your medical information, your transponder number, your car information, etc., it will stay in the system for the next time.  You will then be able to register and pay for subsequent events with a few clicks of the mouse.  If you have trouble, call David Littlefield at 281 235-2467 or email him  at the address above.

Registration Process

There are several ways to get to the registration website.  Any one of these methods will get you to registration for the event:

Go to the CVAR website at www.corinthianvintagerace.com.  Click on the Register link in the box on the home page for the next event, or go to the schedule to find the event you want to register for.

  OR

Type in DLBRacing.com and go to the calendar to find the event and click on the Register icon.

Any one of these actions will get you to the Login screen.

The system will ask you to Login.  The first time you login you will need to create an account.  Just follow the instructions.  It will help to have your VMC license, transponder number, medical information, etc., when you create your account. This is the same information you have been providing for registrations.  However, once you’ve entered this information in the account you won’t have to do it for subsequent events unless it needs updating.

At one point you will be able to select a number for your car.  PLEASE SELECT THE CAR NUMBER YOU CURRENTLY HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED FOR EACH CAR.  If you select a different number, we will have to change it back to your assigned car number manually later on.  If you are running a new car or otherwise don’t have a number assigned, call or email David Littlefield at 281 235-2467 for a number assignment before creating your account.

Select the form of entry you wish to make.  Note that these are the same entry selections you are given in the old registration process.  Race days and Test and Tune days are handled separately, which should be apparent on the screen.  The rest of the information should be filled out for you, if you set up your account properly.  Just check the rest of the information and fill out the boxes as necessary.  If you don’t know the names of your crew right now, just leave it blank.

Click on Continue and you’ll get a summary of your entry.  If it is correct, click on the payment method you wish to use.  If you click on Credit Card (preferred) you’ll be taken to a screen to enter your information.  This is a secure connection.  Enter your payment information accordingly.  That’s it!  You’re all done.

If you select “Check” as payment method, SEND IN YOUR CHECK IMMEDIATELY.  YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED UNTIL YOUR PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.  Late fees will be enforced and are effective when payment is received, NOT when it is postmarked.

In any case, you’ll be sent an email confirmation of your registration.  Included will be a Tech sheet and a Waiver form.  Print and fill out both forms and submit them to Tech as soon as you get to the track.  It works best to open the email attachment and print it as it has the right page breaks.  You will also receive a page with gate entry tickets.  Cut out these tickets and bring them to the track, as well.  YOU WILL RECEIVE NO ADDITIONAL MAILINGS IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR REGISTRATION.  top

LATE FEES

Attention prospective students: You must register for the school at least 10 days before the school.   We have a lot of information for you to study before you arrive. Please register early. Student registration will not be accepted if after the 10 day out cut off.
Make sure your car is ready.  You will not have time to beat and bang on your race car during this weekend.
I can be contacted via the web site.

Given the financial commitments that CVAR must make, we must be able to collect entry fees far enough in advance to ensure we have sufficient entries to put on a race.  Internet registration will allow for registration to be available much further in advance so you will have every opportunity for an early entry.  In addition, if you register and pay on-line through DLBracing.com, your entry will be immediately valid without the added delay of the US Mail.  A late fee of $50 will now be charged for registrations that PAID 10 or less calendar days before a race.  AT-THE-TRACK PAYMENTS WILL BE CHARGED A LATE FEE OF $100.  Note that late fees are based upon when the payment is received.  top

Cancelation top
REFUND POLICY: Race Event Fee Refunds may be requested up to 10:00 PM of the Wednesday immediately preceding
any Race Event. After this deadline refunds will not be considered unless the request involves extreme extenuating circumstances.

Online cancelation:
If you sign in to your account at DLBRacing.com you will get a
screen called "My Account." If you don't see My Account at the top
of the screen after you sign in, go to the menu bar and select
Account Settings then click on My Account in the drop-down menu.

The My Account screen should show the events you've registered for.
There are several icons out to the right of the event name including:

"Drivers" (which gives you a list of registrants);Edit (which allows you
to update your entry, for example to change a transponder
number); "Cancel" (which allows you to cancel your entry, more
below); "Outlook" (which supposedly allows you to download the
calendar entry into Outlook, though I haven't got that to work,
yet); and "Print" (which allows you to print your entry documents).

If you click on the "Cancel" icon you will get a screen that will
ask you to input your reason for canceling and then you click "Yes"
to cancel the entry.

That will automatically drop you off the entry list and will
automatically generate an email to me letting me know you canceled.
I will then issue you a credit based upon whichever method you
paid. In other words, if you paid by credit card I can issue you a
refund electronically that will be credited to your card. If you
paid by check I will notify Dave Peterson (the keeper of the
checkbook) to issue you a check. If it is race week I may not be able
to process your cancellation till the following week.
I'd rather not carry credits over
to another event because that messes up the administration and
accounting terribly. top

Question: Where is my tech form or event tickets? top

Answer: If you have registered for an event using the online
registration system and have not received an email with your
registration materials, it could be that your email system is
blocking the email as spam or with a virus blocker. We've seen this
in a few cases, particularly where someone is using their employer's
email system. We've changed the email to deal with this, but you
might still have not received it.

If you have registered and haven't got your email, as an alternative
you can do the following:

Go to DLBRacing.com and log in to your account using your email
address and your password.

Once you have logged in, you should see a screen with My Account at
the top that will show you registered for the event. If
you don't see your account summary, select the menu item "Account
Settings" at the top of the page then click on My Account in the drop-
down menu.

Off to the side of the event name in your Account Summary are
several icons for Editing, Canceling, etc. Click on the Printer
icon. You'll then get your documents in your browser and you can
use your browser function to print them.
back

You can go back to My Account at any time and print these materials
if you lose the email, or even if you get to the hotel and realize
that you left them at home, etc. etc.

Question:  Why implement on-line registration?

Answer:  There are numerous reasons.  The main impetus for implementing on-line registration at this time is Art Summerville’s retirement.  Art has had the time and willingness to handle snail-mail and paper-based registrations for many years.  Every year CVAR (Art) handled about 2500 separate pieces of mail related to registrations.  On-line registration will virtually eliminate the use of snail-mail and drastically reduce the amount of work required to process registrations.  This will reduce the number of volunteers and/or the hours that would otherwise have to be devoted to this process.back

Question:  OK, but what’s in it for me?

Answer:  Convenience and efficiency.  Your registration information, once entered into the system, will allow you to register for events with the click of a button.  No more hunting down your transponder number, your license number, your doctor’s phone number, etc., etc.  In addition, CVAR will be able to take credit card payments.  While we expect few of our members will want to finance entry fees on their credit cards, many have airline mileage and other benefits they obtain by using their credit cards.  On-line registration is available 24/7 at your computer and available virtually up to the day of the race.  No more hunting down someone at the track or trying to find your registration materials at the hotel.  Late fees will apply, however, and we encourage you to register as early as possible.  Late registrations are an added burden to volunteers that are also trying to race.back

Question:  Is it safe?

Answer:  As safe as any other Internet-based service.  Your privacy is protected through our agreement with the service provider.  There is no selling of email addresses or disclosure of any other information.  The credit card payment service is provided through one of the best-known service providers in the industry over an industry-standard secure connection.  Your credit card is also protected from fraud by your credit card provider (typically you are at risk only for the first $50 of any fraud, though you should read your agreement to know for sure).back

Question:  I’ll register on-line, but I don’t want to use a credit card.  Can I pay by check?

Answer:  Yes, although please understand that this does create an additional burden on your volunteer CVAR workers.  It means that the check must be collected and deposited and that an additional step to acknowledge the payment must be made to complete your on-line registration.  Although you would register on-line, you will not be officially registered until the payment is received by mail.  Credit card payments, by contrast, mean instantaneous registration and no additional steps for you or CVAR.  We strongly encourage use of credit cards to reduce the burden on your volunteer worker and to ensure clarity of payment and registration.back

Question:  I think fuel injection and electronic ignition are the work of the devil, so I’m never going to touch a computer keyboard.  How do I register?

Answer:  There will be provision for snail-mail registration for those that have no Internet access.  Hopefully this will represent very few of our members.  If we find that there are a significant number that can’t or won’t register on-line, then many of the advantages of on-line registration are lost.  In this scenario, we would probably have to add volunteer staff to handle these registrations.  We would likely seek these volunteers from the “can’t or won’t” group.back

Question:  Is this going to cost CVAR or me anything?

Answer:  The cost of the service itself is nominal and will be easily offset in reductions in copying and postage expenses.  There are some costs involved with accepting credit cards, but these costs will also largely be offset by the mailing expenses.  In any case, the reduction in time committed to this task by your fellow CVAR members is priceless.back

Question:  When does on-line registration start?

Answer:  On-line registrations are available now for the February 2007 events.  Once we have gone through a registration cycle with the first event and any bugs have been worked out, the events for the rest of the year will be made available on the DLBracing.com website.  You could then conceivably register for the rest of the year’s events in one session at the computer. back

Question:  Who do I contact if I have a problem registering?

Answer:  Contact David Littlefield, Registration Chairman, if you have a problem with registration.  His email address is at the top of this page and you can call him at 281 235-2467. back
