Question: Where is my tech form or event tickets? top
Answer:
If you have registered for an event using the online
registration system and have not received an email with your
registration materials, it could be that your email system is
blocking the email as spam or with a virus blocker. We've seen this
in a few cases, particularly where someone is using their employer's
email system. We've changed the email to deal with this, but you
might still have not received it.
If you have registered and haven't got your email, as an alternative
you can do the following:
Go to DLBRacing.com
and log in to your account using your email
address and your password.
Once you have logged in, you should see a screen with My Account at
the top that will show you registered for the event. If
you don't see your account summary, select the menu item "Account
Settings" at the top of the page then click on My Account in the drop-
down menu.
Off to the side of the event name in your Account Summary are
several icons for Editing, Canceling, etc. Click on the Printer
icon. You'll then get your documents in your browser and you can
use your browser function to print them.back
You
can go back to My Account at any time and print these materials
if you
lose the email, or even if you get to the hotel and realize
that
you left them at home, etc. etc.back to FAQ

Question: Why
implement on-line registration?
Answer: There are
numerous reasons. The main impetus for
implementing on-line
registration at this time is Art Summerville’s retirement.
Art has had the time and willingness to
handle snail-mail and paper-based registrations for many years. Every year CVAR (Art) handled about 2500
separate pieces of mail related to registrations. On-line
registration will virtually eliminate
the use of snail-mail and drastically reduce the amount of work
required to
process registrations. This will reduce
the number of volunteers and/or the hours that would otherwise have to
be
devoted to this process.back
Question: OK,
but what’s in it for me?
Answer: Convenience and efficiency.
Your registration information, once entered
into the system, will allow you to register for events with the click
of a
button. No more hunting down your
transponder
number, your license number, your doctor’s phone number, etc., etc. In addition, CVAR will be able to take credit
card payments. While we expect few of
our members will want to finance entry fees on their credit cards, many
have
airline mileage and other benefits they obtain by using their credit
cards. On-line registration is available
24/7 at your computer and available virtually up to the day of the race. No more hunting down someone at the track or
trying to find your registration materials at the hotel.
Late fees will apply, however, and we
encourage you to register as early as possible. Late
registrations are an added burden to volunteers
that are also
trying to race.back
Question:
Is it
safe?
Answer: As safe as
any other Internet-based service. Your
privacy is protected through our
agreement with the service provider. There
is no selling of email addresses or disclosure
of any other
information. The credit card payment
service is provided through one of the best-known service providers in
the
industry over an industry-standard secure connection.
Your credit card is also protected from fraud
by your credit card provider (typically you are at risk only for the
first $50
of any fraud, though you should read your agreement to know for sure).back
Question: I’ll
register on-line, but I don’t want to use a credit card.
Can I pay by check?
Answer: Yes,
although please understand that this
does create an additional burden on your volunteer CVAR workers. It means that the check must be collected and
deposited and that an additional step to acknowledge the payment must
be made
to complete your on-line registration. Although
you would register on-line, you will not be
officially
registered until the payment is received by mail. Credit
card payments, by contrast, mean
instantaneous registration and no additional steps for you or CVAR. We strongly encourage use of credit cards to
reduce the burden on your volunteer worker and to ensure clarity of
payment and
registration.back
Question: I
think fuel injection and electronic ignition are the work of the devil,
so I’m
never going to touch a computer keyboard. How
do I register?
Answer: There will
be provision for snail-mail
registration for those that have no Internet access.
Hopefully this will represent very few of our
members. If we find that there are a
significant number that can’t or won’t register on-line, then many of
the
advantages of on-line registration are lost. In
this scenario, we would probably have to add
volunteer staff to handle
these registrations. We would likely
seek these volunteers from the “can’t or won’t” group.back
Question: Is
this going to cost CVAR or me anything?
Answer: The cost of
the service itself is nominal and
will be easily offset in reductions in copying and postage expenses. There are some costs involved with accepting
credit cards, but these costs will also largely be offset by the
mailing
expenses. In any case, the reduction in
time committed to this task by your fellow CVAR members is priceless.back
Question: When
does on-line registration start?
Answer: On-line
registrations are available now for
the February 2007 events. Once we have
gone through a registration cycle with the first event and any bugs
have been
worked out, the events for the rest of the year will be made available
on the
DLBracing.com website. You could then
conceivably register for the rest of the year’s events in one session
at the
computer. back
Question: Who do
I contact if I have a problem registering?
Answer: Contact
David Littlefield, Registration
Chairman, if you have a problem with registration.
His email address is at the top of this page
and you can call him at 281 235-2467. back
